Dedicated to conducting scientific field research into the possible existence of the cryptid known as Bigfoot, and making our scientific findings widely available online to the public and academic institutions fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and natural habitat preservation.
The Center For Wilderness Cryptid Studies was founded as a North Carolina Non-Profit Corporation in 2024.
The CFWCS in based in Franklin, North Carolina, USA. Franklin is a small mountain town located in the Nantahala National Forest and Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina (WNC), and a short drive from both the North Carolina/Tennessee, and North Carolina/Georgia borders. Needles to say, the majority of our research is conducted in those mountain areas. But, we are not limited to those areas, and are available to conduct investigations as far as our resources will allow.
Absolutely.
We abide by all of the gun laws for the jurisdictions where we are conducting expeditions or investigations.
We want to make it clear that our organization is focused solely on the scientific exploration and investigation of Bigfoot. We do not have any religious affiliations or agendas. Our approach is rooted in empirical evidence and objective inquiry.
We maintain an open-minded approach, exploring various avenues in our quest to unravel the mysteries surrounding Bigfoot. This includes not dismissing the possibility of paranormal or UFO-related phenomena. We believe that a comprehensive investigation demands a willingness to consider all potential factors in this enigmatic field.
No. We approach our investigations with the belief that if Bigfoot exists, it likely possesses a heightened awareness of its surroundings, and already knows we are present. By maintaining open communication during our investigations, by acting "normally", we aim to establish a non-threatening presence and create curiosity.
No. It is our organization's mission to investigate the existence of Bigfoot without any intention of harming them. We are committed to respectful and ethical practices such as non-invasive methods and wildlife preservation.
